If you are thinking of buying Power Politics 3. . .

Try the free game first.

The game is heavily pro-Kerry and is becoming more so even as the election trends Bush.

Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia are all Democratic leaning in the latest build.

South Dakota, Arizona, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, Ohio, and Colorado are all tossups in the latest build.

Wisconsin, West Virginia, Pennslyvania, and Michigan are all Super-Democratic in the latest build.

None of those results are accurate.  In the latest Gallup, Zogby, and other state by state polls each of those results is incorrect.  Florida, NC, and VA are all being led by Bush as of today.  Bush is heavily ahead in WV, SD, AZ, KY, and Arkansas.  Ohio is a slight Bush lead.  Wisconsin and WV are Bush leads as of today.  Pennsylvania and Michigan are tossups.

Try the free version if you are looking at the game and if you want to see the game trend back towards "reality", post your feelings on the boards.

It really is hard to find a good balance.

I saw someone on Amazon.com claiming that The Political Machine has a Republican bent even though in our internal AI vs AI Kerry wins 4 out of 7 games.

In The Political Machine, it all depends on the initial game settings.

I think Political Machine would trend Republican if you set all the awareness' to 100%.  The Iraq war and War on Terror issues favor the Republican candidate and are almost always in the top 3 issues of each state.

I will say that I think the real election's exit polls will bear out that Iraq and Terror are the two biggest issues, and whichever candidate wins those two issues will probably win the election.  I like that Political Machine has that dynamic.

That's actually pretty easy to disprove because you can set the awareness to 100% in fantasy mode and it doesn't trend Republican - it actually nominally supports Kerry.
