Awesome cd-protection!

I love these types of games. This is the first piece of software I've purchased in the past two years and I can't even play it unless I find a no-cd crack. THANKS!

"CD/DVD emulation software has been detcted. Please disable all cd/DVD emulation software and re-start the game"

First off, no emulation type programs are even running nor have been. Second off, the cd is in the drive. This statement sounds like it refuses to work in any machine with any "emulation" programs installed. I really don't feel like uninstalling 2-3 programs just to play this.

You don't even need a serial number to play the retail version...maybe if you calmed down a bit, maybe rebooted, and took a screeny or two, that would help us to help you.

Of course there's no cd key, there's just insane stupid versions of anti piracy crap that wont let people even play it. And of course I get an automated response from tech support. What they'll tell me is I have to uninstall other programs to play their game. AWESOME BUSINESS IDEA, GUYS! Anyone know where I can find a no cd crack? Cracking groups arent exactly lining up to crack this game.

Ebylol,

You will get a personal response as soon as support gets to it. The automated response is so that you have information while waiting for support to reply. Did you e-mail [email protected] or ubisoft's support? I don't think that we tell people to uninstall their programs, and it certainly wouldn't be in the autoresponse.

Hey man, seriously, you need to try and relax a bit. If you thumb through the other threads, you will see that it's not as if that is a widely spread problem. I have no clue why you, alone, would have this problem...but being rude to the developers and support staff is certainly not the way to get help.

To answer your question, since you are legally allowed to make one copy of any computer game, there is a website at www.gamecopyworld.com that offers a no-cd fix for this game.

Mods: Please delete my post if you feel it's inappropriate to provide that link... (Not that you wouldn't anyway, )

I have emailed you with directions on how you can bypass the Safedisc elements with the 1.01 update.

Which support could also have provided you with, bypassing some of the drama.

I personally feel the Safedisc stuff was overkill, given that one can find a torrent of pretty much anything within hours of the release (or before). But, that was the publisher's decision to make.

I figured that since this was a Stardock program that I wouldn't need to keep the CD in the drive. Different publisher different policies, I guess. I'm not going to get angry like the guy that started this thread since I know about sites to get cracks ( www.megagames.net and the above mentioned gamecopyworld ) but I hope that the developers (Stardock) read this and insist from their next publisher than no "copy protection" is shoved into the game - it's just so lame.

Anywho...thanks for the cool game, Stardock!

I suspect we'll make being able to veto SafeDisc based protection a requirement next time.

Nakor, would it be possible for you to email me the information regarding Safedisc as well. I would like to be able to play this on my laptop without always having to dongle on the CD drive at any given moment....

Thanks much...Keith
