Why I'll be supporting Kerry

As a Brit I have a very unhealthy interest in American politics and it often baffles me how the most powerful nation in the world can vote in George W Bush.

To the outside world he seems an awful president and as he represents America, this is what we feel all Americans are like. We see this stupid man, waging war where ever he can and that is the brittish view of America. America need to oust Bush and go for Kerry for all his problems with flip-flopping on major issues, will please the rest of the world and poeople will no longer look down on America.

Oh well, that's my views, no doubt everyone will hate it.

I don't hate your view, but it's likely because I lived in Europe for years. One of the reasons I knew G.W. Bush would be awful diplomatically is he had never traveled outside the U.S. before getting elected. I know my travels have broadened my understanding of the world. Many Americans are too narrow-minded and ignorant to grasp how our actions are perceived by others. As the most powerful country in the world, we should walk very softly. It's hard for Americans to see how others view our preemptive attack on Iraq as concerning. Many Americans think we are doing the world a favor by taking out Saddam. I think we have created a tremendous breeding-ground for terrorism and twenty years from now people will look at Bush differently.

In my opinion, the war on Iraq directly interfers with our war on terrorism. It detracts focus and resources from the war on terrorism, while it generates a whole new generation of terrorists. With every civilian we kill, we create another martyr.

Thank God we're getting some "outside" input....now our leaders won't be able to speak for you.
