The Passion of Oscar

I was watching Ebert and Roeper talking about the Passion of the Christ and Ebert said it would not win any awards "politically". I don't understand what was so controversial about the movie. Malcom X and American History X were tense movies and I could see why people would be offended by them (Both of which were awesome). I just don't see what is so bad about the Passion. It was a great movie and it deserve its due. What is it about the movie that was so bad?

It depicted Jews as condemning Christ to death - which they did do - but they weren't to know he was the messiah, actually according to them he wasn't - he was just another guy who deserved to be crucified...

I dont know what the fuss was about either...

BAM!!!

The "fuss" is the same fuss the Japanese made about being depicted as the agressors in "Pearl Harbor". It's about wanting revisionist history to absolve the actions of some of their ancestors. The same way white folks in America wanted to make a hero out of Custer for all those years (thank GOD that got corrected).
