Concerning the CD-RW problem and refunds

Here is a copy of the message i sent to "[email protected]" today, just posting here to see if i can get quicker response from any Support who might be looking at forums:

Hello,

I have recently purchased "The Political Machine" from a retail store. I
noticed on the box, this warning:
Notice: This game contains technology intended to prevent copying that may
conflict with some CD-RW, DVD-RW, and virtual drives.

No where on the Ubisoft, Stardock, or Political Machine websites does it
inform customers which specific CD-RW drives it does not work on. My
computer exceeds all System Requirements printed on the Political Machine
box.

Ubisoft does not have a return policy for opened software (even if the
software does not run on a computer with the requirements), and neither does
the retail store I purchased The Political Machine from.

So my question is:
If I open the box and install the game, and it is unable to run, and I
pursue help from Stardock and/or Ubisoft technical support, and the problem
is unable to be resolved, will Stardock Corporation refund my $19.99 + tax?

If not, I am sorry to say that I will have to return this product to the
retail store I purchased it from, as I am unwilling to "gamble" with $20.

Thank you in advance for a response.

I've forced UBISOFT to give me a refund for a game that would not run...  Stardock did not put the copy protection on, UBISOFT did.  Just be glad they're not using starforce and installing hidden drviers on your computer like everything Digital Jesters, and CDV publishes.  At least a game that won't run won't destory your computer like starforce has to me in the past.

At any rate if you buy it through totalgaming net you'd be better off.  I bought they're yearly deal and get all their games, alphas, betas, extras and never need a CD.  It's wonderful and the best gaming money I've ever spent.  Also I like it because then the developer gets all their money, and not a publisher.
