Are you ready for some (American) FOOTBALL?!?!

OK, guys, I'm gonna toss this blog out to try to promote chiprj's yahoo! Fantasy football league. It's free, and it's fun.

See, the deal here is this: just chip and I have signed up.

And, see, there's no way chip can stand his ego being handed to him on a platter for the 17 consecutive weeks of the NFL season, as would happen if the league stands as it is.

So, here's where I need some help.

I need some more people to thrash soundly on my way to yahoo fantasy football dominance and proving that I am truly the king of the JU sports world. If you don't sign up, I win by default (c'mon, you think CHIP is any competition?)

(j/k chip).

signing off,

Gideon MacLeish

Any link on how to sign up for it?

Thanks for the leg up, Gideon! Hopefully this will help and get the league filled up!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Any link on how to sign up for it?

Here's how you sign up. Go to Yahoo and click on the sport link on the main page. When you get to the sports page, you'll see a link for fantasy up on the top left. When you get to the Yahoo Sports Fantasy page, you will see a link for free fantasy football. Throughout the entire process of signing up, make certain you keep following the links to free fantasy football. Yahoo likes to make the link to the pay game bigger. Also, follow the links for private, custom leagues. When you go through the creation of your team, yahoo will prompt you for the league and ID for the custom league you want to join. Here's the info:

League ID: 413594
League Password: regularjoe

Good to see you in the league!

SSG Geezer -

Looking forward to seeing you join. Anyone else over by you (JU associated, of course) into this sort of thing? If so, get 'em in there!

OK, we got three people signed up for the league. I can't believe that of all the people on JU, there's only three that are into fantasy football. Come on people, sign up!!!

Estrogen Lass is in. That's four! We may need to open up to non-JU's to get a decent sized league going, though. Maybe family and friends of JU's? We have to set the draft to 'ready' soon or we'll miss the first week of the season! So, it's heavy recruiting time!

ok, folks...

See, it's like this. Right now, the fantasy football league looks like the pros (me) versus a bunch of high school kids (the rest of the competition). While I shall certainly throttle the lot of ya, chip and the guys need some competition here. Can't ya do 'em that one little favor?

(in all sincerity) c'mon, folks, it's just for fun (and JU bragging rights): and it's FREE!

PROPOSAL: Just to make it fun, I propose that all those who don't win have to submit a suck up homage blog to the winner. What do you guys think?

Hey, that sounds like a fun idea. And the winner could do an 'I'd like to thank all my victims' type blog!

Great idea! I'll get it typed up right now.

Are we limiting the number of words in my gloat, or can I carry on as long as I'd like? I'd like to make a whole series on it.

I think I intimidate them. Fear is their greatest anti-motivator....lol

Sounds fun, but if I were to sign up, you'd have the pro, 3 high school nancyboys, and the utter abecedarian.

abecedarian? A term with which I am not familiar.

It's one of my favorite alternatives for "beginner". (Its "root", abeced, is merely the beginning of the alphabet rendered more pronounceable.) "Tyro" is another fun choice.

OK, this is the final boarding call for the JU fantasy football league. We are up to six. I'll be setting the draft to 'go' in just a couple of hours (Monday evening California time). If you want in, this is your last chance. Come on people, sign up!!!
