Frustrating gameplay problem

I cannot figure out how to perform actions in a state other than the one I am curently in. For example, If I am in California and click to highlight a different state that I DO have headquarters in, even though the littlke state icon just to the right of the action buttons changes to that state, when I click one of the buttons, say "Create Ad" - I will create the add for the state that I am in instead of the highlighted state that my headquarters is in.

In a nutshell, I just want to know how to perform actions in the states that I am not currently in, but do have heaquarters in,. Please help and thanks in advance!

Hmm is this supposed to be possible? I thought you could have VP's do that, but have not been able to do this either...

The game manual says, and I quote: "Ads can only be placed in states where your candidates is located or has headquarters" this leads me to believe that you should be able to perform certain actions in a state other than the one your are in as long as you have headquarters there

We took out the HQ thing based on player feedback during the betas. So you can only place ads where your candidate is in the final game.

Aren't those the types of clues or info you're supposed to put in the "Readme," Frogboy?

Yea they should be. We missed a few.  There were a lot of playability changes we made during the release candidates that slipped through the cracks.

To Jeffrey, VP's also cannot perform any actions.. ONLY the candidate himself can perform actions such as placing ads or hosting fund raisers by traveling to the state.
