editors and multiplaying

I downloaded and ran the issue editor and interview editor, but now when the game starts, before the opening video i get the error message:
"The game has detected possible corruption of core data files. Continuing with multiplayer disabled. Please re-install from the original CD or Stardock Central to start normally."
And sure enought the multiplayer facility is disabled. Is this a bug or have i edited the core files incorrectly?

Right now, the game won't allow multiplayer if the issues and questions have been altered. That's because it would be possible to create "cheats" with them.

We are trying to think of a way where people can create their own issues but not have it negatively affect multiplayer.
