Debates?

There doesnt seem to be debates in the game?

Maybe you can incorporate it by adding a debate skill.
Then you can spend political capital points to increase this skill for a certain amount of time. (i.e. if you dont consistantly spend political capital points on debate practice, the skill will start to drop).

Then when the debate comes up you can do something similar to the meet the press but have it influenced by the candidates current debate skill.

Best way to make debates work would be to level their intelligence. The higher intelligence candidate will usually win, depending on the issues of course, but not accepting a challange to a debate makes you more of a coward or something (accepting one raises your visibility). I am sure a way to make a trade off could be found.

Higher intelligence works??? In debates??? Since when??? .

Seems like charisma, fast talking and oration skills are more important.
