Graphical Glitches Galore

To start, I am using Direct X 9.0b on an ATI Radeon 9800 using the Dec 2003 drivers (6.14.0010.6414 from December 12th 2003). But I'm pretty sure these glitches have nothing to with my card, they seem to be minor bugs.

1. Sometimes the map will not update when a candidate moves. The candidate icon will stay in a state forever, while his plane zips around the nation showing his real location. The game will show all events as occuring in the state with the frozen candidate (for instance, dollar signs rise in the air in the frozen state, while the candidate is really in another state fundraising). The headlines will also indicate that all events are occuring in the frozen state. All of this refers to the opposing candidate. The player's candidate will also freeze in this case, but the only effect of that seems to be all the graphical effects occuring in the frozen state. The Candidate still moves around the map, and the headlines report the location of events accurately.

2. Many times, the state displayed in the ocean overlays will not load.

That's all I've seen so far, but the frozen candidate thing is really annoying.

1. We'll look into that one. Could we also get your other system specs?

2. I've logged a bug internally where this will occur when loading a game where things are going on in the smaller states, but It's neverhappened in the middle of a game. Perhaps these two buglettes are related

The frozen candidate bug is worse than I thought. I think that the AI, once it was frozen in Washington, could not place ads anywhere but Washington. Furthermore, once my running mate appeared, I could not select him.

My other system specs:
Intel Pentium 4 3.0 Ghz
1024 RAM
Direct X 9.0b
ATI Radeon 9800 128MB video memory
Sound Blaster Audigy

Anything else?

I could provide the save game if you wish. The frozen candidate problem never goes away.

That would be terrific! Please send it to [email protected]. They're looking into this right now. It's something introduced with 1.01 that we're workign on.
