On August 10 The Political Machine began shipping.  What this means is literally the manufactured retail units began shipping from the manufacturer to stores and other resellers.

If you pre-ordered just The Political Machine after June 1, we expect to receive our boxes imminently at which point your orders will get charged and units sent out to you.

If you pre-order just The Political Machine before June 1, we should have the gold version available via Stardock Central for you to download right now while we wait for the retail boxes to arrive from Ubi Soft to send to you.  If you've lost your serial #, visit https://www.stardock.com/support.asp and type in your email addresss and it'll send you your information.

If you purchased a TotalGaming.net subscription then it should be available right now for download.

If you have any questions, post here and we'll try to answer as soon as possible.

Is the political machine a CD game that you pop into the computer and play it or do you get a Cd and download it from the internet onto your computer then play it?

Please describe for those who pre-ordered how to download later today. I downloaded stardock central and I clicked on download next to the political machine, and it came up page error. Is this where to go to download later in the day?

So in essence, if we preordered a little late (like this morning) we're waiting for an email to confirm the charge and then we can download it?

This will happen when SDtardock gets the boxes from Ubi... assuming Ubi is more honorable than Strategyfirst in their dealings with Stardock...

Repub, please check the email for your serial number and download instructions. The CD's will follow when we can send them.

http://totalgaming.stardock.com/games/pmachine_helpDL.asp has directions on how to install Stardock Central and add your serial number to install the game.

We're also sending out another email to everyone who pre-ordered and that was charged today with a link to that page and directions on installation.

So whoever pre-ordered from Ubisoft will not be able to download the game early, even if the game has shipped?

We've no control over pre-orders direct from Ubisoft. Only people who've pre-ordered through Stardock until today, who order CD's from Stardock until we get CD's shipped out, or TotalGaming.net customers can download the game.

And its only early insofar as you don't need to wait for the CD. Its also a more recent version than the CD, so if you do install through Stardock Central, installing from the CD would put an older version on. So I wouldn't bother when the time comes.

Lord Nimrod, just go to https://www.stardock.com/support.asp and type in your email address and it'll email your serial #.  Then you just need to install Stardock Central (http://www.sdcentral.net).
