Basegolf OK..but not ready for primetime

Such a simple thing, but without any way to customize controls its useless to me. It defaults to using my CH Pro peddals brake axis to move the player (so I'd have to manually hold the pedal 1/2 way down to keep the player centered). I cant beleive a company (in this case I beleive its Alitius) can make a game in 2004 with no option to customize inputs. It screams amature.

Oh...and I love that it has a REPORT BUG feature built in...but tells me theres nothing to report....now thats quality control....or is it just control....wait...I get it...its another control issue you cant change! AH well...hope they get with the program.

Basegolf really seems to be a "Love It"/"Hate It" type game. I've seen about 5 posts raving about the game since it's been available for DL on TG.Net, then others have found it lacking. I for one have been hooked, and regularly find myself taking lunch at my desk just to get in a few rounds at bat.

As for the control problem, I suggest (if it's possible) disabling the CH Pro while playing the game, since it's really more of a keyboard type venture anyhow. I admit it's a bit hacky, but it'll let you enjoy the game without cramping up your foot.

I really like it too. It's very simple to play and understand.

Actually, I like basegolf the best of the new games.

Disciples II just isn't fun. You can only cast spells in the main map. The UI is confusing. If I want to have a unit stay in the same place for a few turns, I have to hit "guard" every single turn.

Empires also isn't fun. The economics of the game don't make much sense, nor do most of the special buildings and items on the map. Food management for troops away from my base is a chore rather than fun.

I haven't been able to understand ORB, especially since the manual is missing. (There's a link that says "documentation", but all it does is launches the game.)

I like Basegolf. Of course, that's the only game I've been able to download, but still-- it's distraction rating is very, very high and it's easy to play.

haven't played the basegolf yet, too busy getting my playtime into disciples II, and dabling in easy AI GalCiv.
Unfortunately, im not too much a fan of turn based games, but I have played disciples II to completion on one set of missions winning (of course) on the easy difficulty level. But its cool enough. Tried to play the politics one, but there wasn't anyway I could see to make new flights to other states and no manual that I could see or helpfiles *pout*

Delaron:
The manual is in the works for now. It will be available when the game is released. In the meantime you can read the "Quick Tips" that show up at the start of each game. If you flip through those you will get a good idea on how to play. Just to answer your flight question, select your candidate (or whatever you want to move) and then rightClick on the state you want to go to.
