A question about obsolete social projects

If i have something that gives +20 % morale on a planet
..will another project that gives +5 % morale
make the moral cumulative to +25 % morale?
and later if i build something with +30 % morale..will
the morale now be + 55 % on this planet?

OR

Do you take just the maximum amount..for example in
the above situation...the 5 % morale enhancer won't do
anything since i have a social project that gives more?
thus when i build the +30 % moral enhancing project..
my total moral bonus will be +30 % ? thus making the
+20 % project obsolete and the +5 % as well?

They all stack as in your first example.

One thing to look at though is maint cost. Some late game projects offer good bonuses and little or no maint, so it may be worthwhile to build those, then sack the old one to save money.

Go to the planet detail screen. You can select and discard completed social projects there. The completed social projects are in the upper left side of the screen. When you select one of the completed projects a description and a "cancel project" button will appear.

Here all this time I've been eating the maintainence costs for all the social projects I built through the game.

Holy cow, you can cancel social projects?!? Do you get reimbursed in any fashion?

If you do, then I know what to do with those wasted BC's. I'll just revert to the old Civ1 strategy of constantly building an improvement and then selling it.

It's a better idea to just build military units and sell them to the AI for a profit. If you're concerned about the AI accumulating a larger military force than you are, just build yourself a custom duel sector to deplete the AI's new units. Find a sector close to your main industrial planets, build two starbases and give them to two opposing AIs. Move your military units to this sector and sell them to the two AIs, then watch them kill each other off. Evil cheese LOL
