Is there ANY way to win with low starting funds, low stamina, or low experience?

I'd like to know if there's any way to win in this game starting a custom character: starting with Low Stamina, or starting with Low Political Experience, or starting with Low Initial Funds.

Thanks for looking into this.

Jeffrey,

I haven't tried, but I think you could win if you put the extra points into the proper areas. For instance, if your fundraising ability is high, this can overcome the low money problem. Low experience is easily overcome by increasing other attributes and playing to those attributes. Low stamina is a hard one to overcome though.

I imagine that it would be a very tactical game. Without the stamina to run around the country and do all you want to do, you have to pick your states and win them with the least amount of effort. For instance, every speech and ad would be important. You probably can't win on the top issue, but you could make a good run at issues 2-5. You probably can't afford to get more than one or two endorsements.

This would be one of those cool puzzles, like the Magic: The Gathering puzzles (if anyone remembers those). Given a particular character, plot a campaign that would win, or at least not lose by a landslide.

I've won on Normal with low experience. I had a high stamina though.

Stamina is too powerful statistic, however.

Stamina is probably the most important characteristic in the game. I don't think it's too powerful. We never implied that all the stats were equal.

But I'd say there is diminishing returns. 12 stamina points per turn is plenty if I have high experience.

You can also "bank" stamina to raise your stamina level. If you have left over stamina, that gets added to the bank at a 2:1 ratio (ie. 2 stamina = 1 in the bank). When this bank reaches your current level, your permanent stamina level goes up by one.

I like to bank a couple of stamina early in the early turns and by mid-game, my stamina increases.

OH neat, I wondered how that stamina banking worked.

I've won with low intial funds, high stamina and high fund raising ability.

Actually I can't tell that having a high fund raising ability (I've played at both 10 and 9 in fund raising ability) is that much of an advantage, even starting with low funds. I guess if you turned your fund raising ability all the way down you might have problems.
