I Cann't Play Game- Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I press the play game button my computer crashes and I have to power down to restart. nothing seems to work I have downloaded the most recent version of my video card driver and game version and nothing.

Please help.

Windows ME
650 memory
1.5 Pentium 4
Dell
NVIDIA TNT2 64mb

Hi, sad to hear. If you check your galciv-directory, there is a file called debugg.err
Please check it out and paste the content here. It will most probably contain a clue of what's wrong.

Try switching to 16-bit color prior to starting the game. Do the intro Strategy First and Stardock movies play ok for you? If not, it could be a Bink-related problem since I believe it's right after you hit "Play Game" that the intro movie starts.
