Schools Out....then why are these kids still here?

Today is the last day of school here and as we graduate the 5th graders to junior high and the kindergarteners to first grade I admit that I have caught a bit of the "school's almost over" fever. I will be working about 10 hours today and I'm not particularly looking forward to that, but I am looking forward to the random shenanigans of these kids and the blank stares of their teachers as they do so with little movement except that vein in their temple pulsing with anticipation of the school bell.
A few days of prep work and then I begin two jobs including the summer edition of what I already do. Hopefully this will be filled fishing, biking, field trips...etc.. So it really is like school's out for me as well.
No more learning, no more books, no more of SuspeckTed's dirty looks....well, actually, there will be a lot more of those.
