Stand-alone download for Altarian Prophecy?

Will there ever be a stand-alone download of Altarian Prophecy, i.e., not through Stardock Central? It always make me feel safer being able to burn a backup of purchased software.

But SDC has features to make an archive from a game. So you can burn this archive with the SDC and you will have a backup that can be reinstalled.

I didn't get the impression that SDC downloaded files in a manner that could be installed separately from SDC. I don't think the archive feature works that way, but I could be wrong. Anyone have experience with this?

When you archive a file like AP it will create a zip of it in a folder. Just burn that zip to a cd. Then if you have to reinstall, open SDC and select restore, point to your cd and it will restore the game. I've done all of mine, just in case.
