1up / Games Radar Reviews

The 1Up and Games Radar reviews have hit the streets!

"Sins is the fulfillment of Supreme Commander's promise -- zoom in to see the tracers of a fighter squadron launched from a carrier ship, and zoom out to take in 60 planets and five star systems at a time as utilitarian icons" -1Up.

"With most RTS games shifting towards fast action at the expense of real strategy, it would be an unforgivable sin for a strategy fan to pass by this game on the shelf and not pick it up." -GamesRadar

Excellent news. I expect a lot of reviews to be published in the next week which will help propel Sins to the #1 place rank in NA for next week or at worse Set it up for first place for March.

Gamespot gives it a 9.0 + Editor's Choice.

I mean... not that anyone pays any attention to Gamespot reviews anymore, but there you have it.  :p

The only people who I don't see paying attention are those who were shocked by their honest reviews, but meh.... Not saying that's you of course, but used to participate in their forums. People would throw fits over .1 differences, or mention some 30 year old review (like...(YAWN) the infamous Tony Hawk 3 review) as a sign of Gamespots's imperfection.

Now they give s smaller scale (in terms of promotion) game a higher score than most strategy games they've reviewed, and people are still skeptical.

Oh, I think the review's spot-on. I was mainly referencing the recent Kane and Lynch / Jeff Gerstmann debacle and the fact that much of the site's editorial talent has jumped ship (along with a significant portion of the site's userbase). 9 is a great score from GS, but it just doesn't seem to carry the weight it used to...
