Value creation error " line 220

ARGH!

Hi everybody, I hope one of you can help me!

I created a logon with LogonStudio and all was working well untill I did something, which i now realise was stupid, that caused some kind of error. As I'm not very clued up with the inner workings of things, I didn't know what re-saving a .bmp as a .png for the use of transparency would cause problems. When I 'Saved and Applied' i got the error message: 'Value creation error " line 220' with an 'OK' button. When clicked, the error message appears again, and again, and again.

The big problem is, because it was 'Applied' and not 'Previewed' my pc wont get any further than that error message, so I cant just click 'Restore XP Logon'.

I have tried accessing the files through a linux instalation, but haven't managed to locate my windows partition.

I suppose I need help from someone with PC knowledge as well as LogonStudio knowledge.

Thanks

If you do [ctrl]-[alt]-[del] twice at the logon screen can you get the network version of the logon and get in that way?

Hi Zubaz, thanks for the reply

Unfortunately that doesn't work. The error message still constantly pops up before any logon choices do...

Any more ideas?

I think ive had an idea that might work

I finally managed to get into the windows files, one step closer to the fix i suppose.

I thought about copying all the files from a working LogonStudio theme folder, to the one thats meant to be working. Then, hopefully when the pc boots it can find all the files and work properly... if that made sense lol

The only problem with that plan is that i cant figure out how to change write permissions on the c:\program files\wincustomize\logonstudio\theme folder, any ideas?

is there an "ok" button on the error message? If so, keep hitting ok (about 10 times should do the trick) and the logon should come up eventually
