Stardock Download Error: File deleted message and how I resolved it

Here what's happened:
Downloaded via Stardock. After app. 80-82Mb it start's installing. At about 40% it says this or that file cannot be found (one was weapons.md_) and stops.
I kept clicking the 'install' button and Stardock would keep stopping the install BUT everytime with a different file, if the first missing file was file_a the next one was file_b, so there was some progress. I checked the files in the Stardock/temp/base/gfx folder and file_a (different name) was there! Next time file_b was there, file_c was missing. Took me about 10 rounds. Btw, the logfile told me that the already installed files were being found and skipped - which means it didn't take that long.
Then the file weapons.md_ was missing and when I clicked on 'install' again Startdock jumped from about 82mb downloaded data back to 68mb or so and started with a download. Didn't work for two times in a row and voilá the third time it worked. GalCiv is running fine now.
Maybe this helps the one or other fellow gamer.
