Host Etiquette for FFA Game

What is the best thing for a host of a FFA game to do when he is ready to surrender?

If the host surrenders, then exits the program, it seems the other players would get booted.

I've had an excellent series of hosts, and I've only played 1v1 and team matches, so I can't say for sure, but if the game does not persist (i.e. someone else becomes the game host), you could always just save/use the last autosave with a new host.

Honestly, autosave is just awesome. I figured it was originally intended to be for long game sessions, but it's saved people who have accidentally lagged out twice now; best online feature I've come across in a long time.

This reminds me of a big problem with Superpowers/Superpowers 2. The games were so long that if the host ever got knocked out, the game was basically over. (Like hell they'd just sit there and spectate for however long it went)

I'm sure that Ironclad will address it in a future patch if the game ends on host-quit.

That would be a weird bug to overlook. How could they not have noticed it?

If the host leaves or gets disconnected the game will attempt to migrate hosting to another player. Only if no other players have their networks configured to allow hosting will the game end.

migrating never worked for me so i just host my own games now if i have to leave the game for any reason i will just surrender and hit "watch game" or whatever the option is so i continue to host.

obviously i will tell the other players i need to go but i will carry on as the host
