In case of emergency...or the bathroom..or the phone...

Just a quick question.

Say I'm playing online with a friend and we need to break for whatever reason (bathroom, kids, wife, awesome goal in the hockey game--whatever!) can we use the esc key to pause like in the single player game?

Hope so.

Oh, and what a game!

I don't think you can pause, but you can save the game and load it later if things go bad while you're away.

You can pause. Each player gets 10 pauses.

Blair, thanks, that's good to know. Inevitably one will run into the need for more than 10 (though 10 per player, 100 pauses in a 10 player game... should do ok).

Was poking around user.setting, and line 102 is:

MultiPlayerMaxPauseCount 10

So I figure if all players in the game increase that to some reasonably high number that there wouldn't be an issue. Wouldn't want it much higher than 10 for normal multiplayer matches, though.

Depends on the size of the game. I'd say it could reload with time, as if the players decide to play a monster game of 10 players at a huge random galaxy with 107 planets it IS going to take a while and it IS going to need more 10 pauses.

So by 'pause' do you mean hitting the esc to bring up the menu, or is there another way (the pause button, perhaps? I haven't tried it)

And so, is the only way to 'up' that for my friend and I to go into user settings as make that number higher?

With the recent 1.02 patch, ESC does not bring-up the menu anymore : F10 does.

To pause, you press the Pause button, to the right of F12.   :p
