Activision Releases Release Schedule
2008 & Early 2009 Titles Detailed, Nothing Surprising

As part of their quarterly conference call Activision has announced their 2008 and early 2009 release schedule. Probably the most shocking thing about the call is that Activision's Tony Hawk franchise has been re-tooled, most likely due to Electronic Arts entering the lucrative skateboarding market with skate. Mike Griffith, President and CEO of Activision Publishing had the following to say about that re-imaging of the franchise:
"Over the past six months, we’ve been working reengineer the Tony Hawk brand. We started with a deep dive evaluation of our approach to the genre and new trends in the videogame market. Then we conducted a significant amount of consumer research and testing to better understand the types of innovations that consumers want from this brand."
Before dropping all the release information the new leader in third-party publishing confirmed that Call of Duty 5 will be heading to the PC as well as PS3, Xbox 360, DS, PS2 and Wii. Activision also announced new titles for the Marvel licenses they hold including Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 and a new title based on the Spider-man IP. Both titles will be arriving this fall and are likely to come to the PC in some form.
