Sword of the Stars

I have been playing the demo and wondered if anyone else has tried the game?

It is not a bad game but the tactical seems to be a bit clunky in the demo, is the full version better? Any other opinions on the game?

I have ive played all the space games atleast once I agree with you the ship design is a little better than galciv2 you can create any type of ship plus theres an expensin pack coming out soon the races would make a great mod for DA.

I've reviewed the game at Strategy Core. Sorry for the self-promotion but I don't want to write it all again... I definitely recommend SotS with the expansion Born of Blood (BoB). It made the game much better. Be sure to patch.

The trailer for SotS was good, but when i played the demo version, the game froze on me as i expand my empire. I encountered the same problem for the full game, in between turns, my comp simply locked up. I have a dual core laptop running the game.

Everytime I see it sitting there on the shelf at Frys, I think to myself, "Do I really need another 4x strat game"... I mean... it was only mid last year that I first introduced myself to the genre. GalCiv II was my first...

and will be my only 4x game un GalCiv III comes out...

Seriously, can a 4x game get any better than GalCiv II?

I've played a variety of 4X games over the years and I find the key to enjoyment in just that - variety. SOTS had a rocky start but with the patch and addition of Born of Blood (BOB) expansion has matured into quite an interesting game once you get used to it. I find myself playing GalCiv2, SOTS-BOB, and SOASE (all 4X variants) for different reasons and enjoying all of them. As far as good games go - the more the better. I would recommend you play SOTS-BOB as well as the others.
