Activation Required for this site

Maybe someone on here can help me. I bought this game yesterday at Best Buy. After installing the game I did the update serial option from the splash screen and then hit the Update Game option (just to see if there was an update or something). I filled out the form to make a new account including the serial number, email, name, and everything was correct. Well I never recieved the email to activate my account which means the account is not active.

When I tried to resend the activation email I get the error message:

I can provide a screenshot of the error message if anyone wants to see it.

I tried contacting [email protected] but that was a waste of time since all the guy did was close the ticket and say you don't have to activate anything. So now Im stuck not being able to activate my account for this site and am not recieving any help from the company to resolve this issue.

What do I need to do short of returning this game and never ever buying a product from this company again?

p.s. Incase your wondering to post this I had to create an account for the forum not for the game.

Forum accounts are in fact the same as the account you register your serial to. There does seem to be some confusion about that. If you're logged in already with your forum account, you should be able to regsiter your serial on the updates page without any issue.

I had to create a second account to access the forums. When I had tried in the past to create another account with the same serial key after it became clear that I was not going to recieve an activation email it wouldn't let me since it said the serial key had already been used.

In that case, you'll need to request a merge of the two email addresses you used with support.

How do I do that?

Here is the message I get when I try to use the update serial key:

Sign Up Error - Invalid Serial Number
The serial number you have entered does not belong to the email address you have entered. To register this serial number you must use the same email address in which you used to purchase the game.

Email [email protected] and tell them the address that you initially tried to register to (the one you did not get an activation mail for), and the one you made the forum account with, and ask them to merge the former to the latter.

OK thank you for your help. Hopefully tomorrow when tech support opens up they can fix it for me :)
