cannot connect to any server- network error

hello! 
as of now i cannot connect to any multilayer server. whenever i try to, it takes 1-2 mins for the game to tell my that i was disconnected due to a network error.
i do this with no firewall, no anti virus, my settings file correct (as far as i know...), and with my school network (don't have router) allowing port 6112.
right now i am very dissapointe3d, i was looking forward to playing this game but due to some problem i cannot play any multilayer, a main component to this game.
plz help me!
