Account name not found

Tried to play an online game to today. Tried to create an account in game, but would not let me create an online account until I downloaded a patch. Was not able to download said patch till I registered via https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/signup. Once I installed patch and tried to log in, I get and error saying the "Account name not found" and when I try to register in game, it says my cd key is in use. Who do I talk to to get this fixed or am I retarded enough that I maybe missing something here.
