Load Problem in MP? "do not have that file"

How exactly should the save feature work? We had our first crash (one guy dropped out). So we immediately saved the game and quit. I then hosted again using load game and loaded the save file we used when the guy crashed. Everyone could join except the guy who crashed. It would let him blink in then out and give him the message that he did not have the needed file.

The auto-save worked for everyone, but was a bit old and before some important fights.

Does the game distribute save files when it saves? How can we get the save game to the guy who crashed out? There does not seem to be any obvious save folder.

What are we doing wrong?

Well, once someone crashes saving the game after the fact kinda makes sense that the guy who crashed wouldn't have it :P The best you can do is use autosaves. You can also send him the save file you created through some other means (the game doesn't have automatic save sharing), and see if you can load it that way.

all of you have to be present when the save is taking place for it to work afterwards.
Thats the reason for the auto save, so if someone drops you can atleast continue with only some short time loss :)

Hey Multi... nice to see you!

Chaplin-X, multi is correct. The best thing to do is to go back to an autosave that you all have, one that was saved before the crash.

Yes, edit your user.setting file in either

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire
or

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\

Change AutoSaveTickFrequency 900 to something like AutoSaveTickFrequency 300.
