Single Player AI

How is the single player ai in the current build?Do they know how to use all the commands and units, have proper tactics or they are just dumb?

This game seem to be really good for me.I do hope the ai is damn good ,compare to other games.

I wonder if the AI will be as good as galciv 2?

The AI is going to keep getting improvements, too. In a game like Sins, AI is extremely difficult to code. I know it's been very high on the list of things to perfect for Ironclad, and I'm pretty sure they'll keep on working on it.

ya, havent heard much on the topic of AI since early betas (around 2 or so)

since noone is complaining despite having beta 4 in alot of ppls hands... i would say they are good enough to pose a challenge while not being to tough... jsut right in other words :)

I recall a dev saying that if there is a outcry for hard AI's they will through in a cheating AI difficulty level.

based on beta 4 i think the ai is way too passive. i find i can get by with 1 uber fleet and a small defense fleet. the ai never seems to take advantage of my main fleet being several jumps away. also they don't go for my main worlds they seem to only attack adjacent planetoids even though i never use jump inhibitors. keep in mind i play on H. but as i sais this is based beta 4, i just hope the ai is decent in final release. but if it's not we always have multiplayer.

Nobody's been saying much about the beta 4 AI because everyone knows it sucks :P But the release's will be better.

Yes, the AI can be a real challenge on hard. You would need some serious skills to take on a locked team of 2 AI. Much of the AI programming took place post beta, so you can throw Beta 4 comments out the window. In a recent multiplayer game we had, the light blue AI faction took the lead!
