I'm just missing around with the galaxy files one question i do have is how the planet count works....for example on the random huge galaxy there is 30 planets and 5 stars, does this mean 30 planets per star or 30 planets divided among the 5 stars?

30 planets total of all 5 stars.

 In a random map, the planet count doesn't account for the homeworld additions which is based on the number of players.

So you could have a 40 planet random map?

In retail you could have a 10,000+ planet map but yes, 10 Players + those 30 would give you 40 planets (in beta 4).

I tryed a random generated map once with 1000 planets and 20 stars but my computer din`t really like it, tho a game of that format would take weeks.

You can make a map of any size. The only limitation is what your puter can handle.
