So I saw you standing there,

Back to me,

Hair blowing in the breeze.

Laughter carried on the wind.

The most beautiful thing,

I’d ever seen.

Striking up my courage,

I venture forth.

Days pass by,

We date and we talk.

We grow close and intimate,

I’ve never felt this way,

Never before.

One day I buy it,

That familiar little object.

Seemingly so insignificant,

But a commitment behind it.

Yes?

You actually said yes?

Heaven, surely this is it.

My heart flutters and I kiss you.

So many years from then,

Still together,

Raising our own legacy.

Life has been good.

All these thoughts occur to me,

Each one clear and crystal.

I think about taking a step towards you,

Then,

He comes to kiss you.

So I go on my way,

Like I always do.

Just another day,

Another lonely day at the zoo.

Sappy probably wasn't the right word to use...

Sappy- full of sap; juicy  also- excessively sentimental or- silly or foolish.  Long as it's not the third one, I won't be pissed at you.

Though you are entitled to whatever opinion you have. Heh, heh.
