Got a good one for ya

Nero burn problem

Ok, let me see if I can explain this so you'll understand whats happening. I've been using Nero 6.6 for ages and NEVER had this problem. I installed DVDFab on my system and all of a sudden Nerovision would only burn half the disc (it does not error out and shows it as complete). So, I uninstalled DVDFab and thought the problem went away until I went to play the DVD in my player, it would start playing normally and then half way thru what I was watching it would quit. I looked at the physical disc and noticed somthing very interesting, the first part of the disc looks like a normal burn the other part looks as if it burned shallower than the beginning of the disc. I know this is not a hardware problem because I burned a DVD ISO with Alcohol 120% and it burned perfectly fine (uniformly burned the entire DVD). Any ideas???  :SNIFF!:  X-(

Well, from your description about one part of the disc looked shallow, that happens when that part of the disk is empty of data. CD and DVD burners start from the inside ring and go outward. After you uninstalled DVDFab, did you reburn the DVD or stick it back in. If not, reinstall Nero, uninstall DVDFab, and reburn it. Try it. If not, I would just recommend using Alcohol 120% or something of the equivalent such as PowerISO.

Cheers.

The "shallow part I'm refering to is burned but not all the way thru. Normal burned section then another section that is not burned as deep and then blank disc. It looks like a dual layered burn but it's not a dual layer disc.

I found that if I use Disc-at-Once it will burn normally.
