CursorFX Final

I was notified this morning that my beta version (CursorFX) had expired. I purchased CursorFX and was assuming I would not have to pay again for the final version, however there is no option for upgrading that I can find. Am I missing something?

I am referring to CursorFX PLUS in the post above, sorry for any confusion.

JinnRikki I did the same, had CursorXP Plus and purchased CursorFX Plus with the discount when it came out. I haven't seen the notice that you are talking about. I wouldn't think you have to pay again either.

Some one should be along soon, but I would contact [email protected], they should be able to straighten it out for you.

Ditto for me! Anybody find anything out?

It expired only because it's a beta.  Just download the latest version.

Oops, didn't think about asking if they had downloaded the latest update, duh. :d

I see no option to download the latest version (at CursorFX website or Stardock Central). I am more than a little confused that they just disabled the beta and sent no e-mail just instructions to go to www.cursorfx.net/ for the final version and there is no option to upgrade without paying again.

JinnRikki look under misc in SDC, you should see CursorFX shown there. Does it show you an update available? :NOTSURE:

Yes I found it, thank you. Why buried in misc I wonder and why not direct users there instead of the less than helpful website. Anyway thanks again, I'm off to reboot.

No problem JinnRikki. Don't quote me but I think it's because of not being a part of Object Desktop that you find it and ObjectDock Plus there.  ;)

Installed, rebooted and everything but "settings" works. This isn't a problem with my current cursor but some of them need resizing. Anyone else encounter this problem and if so is there a fix?

Wow, just went to check mine and everything is working okay in settings. The download may have gotten messed up. Try changing to the default cursor, once you done that, uninstall CursorFX Plus, reboot and then reinstall. Hopefully that will correct the problem. It happens sometimes that a download does get messed up.

Yes, quite messed up, it's no longer listed in add/remove programs (programs and features in Vista). Also apparently this is not the "final" version as in "about" it says Version 2.00 Beta 3.
I'll try an install over then see if it's listed and remove and reinstall, jeesh!

Just use SDC to install JinnRikki, sorry I should have said that in my other reply.

I used SDC to uninstall, I can now use settings but it's quite odd. I make the settings then apply nothing happens but I then go to 'Trails" or "Effects" and double click in a selection box and it applies the settings from "settings"....strange, but functional.

Jinn, I think that's a universal problem with this beta. Along with the Z-order issue. But it is a beta, after all.

As long as I'm complaining...the trails should come from the rear of the cursor, not the tip. It's not a wand is it?
Yes, a magic wand. And if you know the right words it will take you to the magical land of GUI Oz.... ;p

Actually, I think it's designed as more a locator kinda thing. That way, you always know where the tip of the cursor is going. It's especially helpful when your cursor disappears under dropdown menus (like it tends to do in this beta). Odd...the cursor will go under the dropdown menu, but the trail goes above it.......

Saturday I did a Beta Test for the person working on CursorFX. The problem stopped of the cursor going under everything, but the "Apply" button didn't work. I sent an email back to him and explained what I have found. It is now Tuesday and I still have not heard any response.

ALMonty, right now I am having no problems whatsoever out of CFX. I don't understand how that could be, though. My cursor is running on top of everything, like it should be. I'm not complaining, mind you. Just think it's odd.

I found that if I changed WindowBlinds skins that is when the cursor went under things.

Does your Apply button work in the settings?

Unfortunately, no.

The developers are still working on the reported bugs at this time. I know this doesn’t help much but I didn't want you to think these issues were being over looked.
