Israeli Issues:
Jewish settlements outside of Israel.
|
Surely that's not an issue any more. The vast majority of Arab Jews have fled the Arab countries years ago.
Freedom of movement of the Palestinians (Gaza and West Bank).
|
They had such freedom of movement before 1967 and before the first Intifada. It didn't seem to help.
End Occupation of ALL Palestinian Territory.
|
Why? Israel was, like Jordan and Gaza and the West-Bank, carved out of Palestine. Who is to say what is "Palestinian territory" now? And how come the Jews are not "Palestinians"? They live there too, some families considerably longer than any Arabs.
Return of Palestinians to Israel.
|
Out of the question. Those people tried to kill the Jews and I don't think they have changed their mind about.
Also, the Jewish refugees cannot (and don't want to) return to their Arab countries of origin because they would be killed. Plus a return of refugees would simply create a situation like 1949, when the Arabs attacked despite the "refugees" being in Israel.
The border fence will pretty much settle that issue.
The Arabs can have East-Jerusalem sans the old city. I don't see why they should get the old city just because Jordan occupied before losing it to Israel. It was British before then and Turkish before it was British. The Arabs have no claim to it other than "we have also controlled it for a few years".
Palestinian Issues:
Recognize Israel’s right to exist (sign Peace Treaty).
|
That didn't help. They have signed such a peace treaty. They still don't recognise the Jews' right to live.
End attacks on Israel by ALL Palestinian factions.
|
They should never have started.
Accept borders of new Palestinian State.
|
They didn't in 1948, they didn't in 1967 when Israel offered to give back the won land in return for peace, they didn't in 1994, and they didn't in 2000. I don't see how this "issue" helps at all.
Agree on status of Jerusalem.
|
And they won't agree. The only "status of Jerusalem" they ever agreed to was a Jew-free Jerusalem where Jewish tombstones could be used to build hotels.
