Sometimes you just have to embrace the inner Martha

And sometimes you need to take her out back and shoot her.

Somehow I was extra productive yesterday. I'm not sure why. I've had a hard time getting motivated since I went to Alabama (the only State that has a statue in the middle of town honoring a BUG) but yesterday, I got moving right away. It probably had something to do with the fact I did NOT get on the computer till after I did my chores....

But I digress, as a mom....I rock. I made homemade bread yesterday and it was fantastic. I had to force myself not to eat the whole loaf. This morning, I realized that we had exactly 1/2 cup of milk left. AHHHHHH! So no cereal or oatmeal. French toast! I used up some more of my homemade bread and it was amazing.

Suddenly I had a flash. There I was with clean, happy kids laughing at the table and I was making homemade french toast that was golden brown and smelled heavenly. I must be the reincarnation of Martha Stewart! I could see myself in the future. I'm making homemade breakfasts every single morning while reading the classics to my kids as I cook in an immaculate kitchen....

*Shake my head* Wow. I must not have had nearly enough sleep last night. I must be delusional. But the french toast is good.....

bonus picture of my kids....

It looks like a ten-gallon cowboy hat with a scarab beetle riding it. ;)

In Enterprise Alabama there is a statue with a giant Boll Weevil on top. It celebrates the nasty, little, cotton-eating bug that devestated much of King Cotton. Yes, that is right. Smack dab in the center of town, they worship a big bug.

Okay, no worshiping that I saw, but they do love it! Creepy if you ask me. But if you want the whole, semi-plausible but still kinda creepy story, google Boll Weevil Monument or look it up on Wikipedia.

Ha! Well sometimes it's hard to stay awake no matter what time the meetings start. So is she a Sunbeam now? Our li'l Michael is a CTR 5 this year, I can't believe it!

What a wonderful picture. A couple times a year I have brief moments like that too. Except for the cooking part, hah, that's not something I feel competent experimenting with yet. Maybe in the next decade. But I figure as long as the kids are laughing and the house is clean for a flash of a moment, I'm doin' good.

And is that her Dorothy dress she's wearing? Yes, you are so Martha!
