Need help....

Several times over the past couple months I've had a problem with Windows/system/config/system disappearing, which causes me to have to re-intall windows,etc...I use Acronis True Image,so it takes less than an hour, but its still a pain....everythings working fine, shut the PC down and when I turn it back on SYSTEM is missing or corrupt again. My question is is there away to back the registry up to a seperate drive and if so how can that file be run from the windows repair console???? will take any help I can get, this is getting really annoying...

Is Trueimage resetting sytem dates and times?  That might be part of yoru WB problem.  Better to work on that than trying to futz with keys etc.

You might try using a program called 'erunt' found here

Read this for a description of how to access the backed up registry from the repair console.

Zubaz ... I've used True Image for a while now and not had any issues like the OP is having. Sounds like a flaky drive to me

that usually indicates you don't have the needed software installed to run the format

go back to the gallery, there's a website link near the top to take you to get the software
