PM2004 - Can't fly my candidate from State to State.... Please Help

So I've just purchased "The Political Machine" and was very excited to play it. Unfortunately I am experiencing an unusual challenge. It seems that after week 1 I am unable to fly my candidate from state to state. My mouse is working fine so I know it isn't anything that simple.

Is this a known issue? How can I fix it?

you have to find your candidate on the map and left click on him to select him. Then, right click on any other state. Your candidate will travel there. You will see a little airplane fly from state to state. Keep in mind though that you need money to travel, $30,000 I think, and stamina points available to spend (1 bar) to travel.

you can also hit the c button to find your character
