New Sins Previews to Start 2008

Game Vortex, 2404 and GamingTrend get 2008 started with a bang

Happy New Year!  Game Vortex, 2404.org and GameTrend have new hands-on previews of Sins of a Solar Empire to share.

Game Vortex starts their preview by stating, "Being referred to as 4X game could have a negative connotation for many RTS games. The term 4X refers to eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate. Now this is a not a new term, but because of its sometimes negative connotation, it is one that I didn't expect to be coming straight out of the mouth of the developers of Sins of a Solar Empire. If you're going to say it, you had better do it with style, and the game does not disappoint."

2404.org's article was posted during the holiday break, but is definitely worth a read stating, "Perhaps 2007 would be the new 1996 and I could make up for missing MOO2 by being present at the creation of a new 4x masterpiece."

All those reviews were for superior then the IGN multiplayer "hands-on" review. I'm jealous those guys got the gold version and I'm pimping this game to everyone and anyone. It's just not right Ma! ;p

really? whats with the new looking pirate ships???

Speaking of the deadline, I recall that the game was supposed to be released back in August originally

as I remember it was a tad earlier than that :P
try dec '06 !

but alas, the wait has been well worth the polish.
I hope that you will be as hyped about the game as I felt the first time I read about it. I highly recommend supporting the developer and pre-ordering the game as it looks to be a blockbuster

Wow 30 days out and not at gold yet. That is a scary situation to be in for sure unless your distro system is rock solid fab wise or you could miss that ship date. No pressure there cause you guys are stone cold hardcore developers. After all the game is not everything in your life, it is the only thing. :LOL:

maybe its just the angle at which they are photographed and lighting... (psst, why were they going down???)

in any case I've always been curious: what do they do? I havent seen them do much except focus fire and die. die really really easily.
