Musical Update?

Greetings,

One of the many things one can appreciate in a beta is the state of any music therein. Given the time that has passed I was curious both as to the score`s status and more significantly to the possibility of hearing even just a few portions of a few tracks from the game, something beyond the trailer accompaniment.

I am a huge soundtrack music fan, and I am very interested in hearing the 'vibe' of this game. Regardless, thank you for your time.

There's been a lot of progress in this area, but nothing we're able to release publically. The Collector's Edition version of the game will come with a music CD. ;)

Do the beta testers get an upgrade path? :SURPRISED:

Only if you ordered the boxed copy. They'll be sending instructions on how to upgrade to the CE to us digital downloaders closer to release.

Cool. I never order boxed products from SD because I dont want SD to incur shipping costs. Plus I dont really need a box (save a tree) and everything in digital format works nicely.

We do charge for shipping, you know. We're not quite *that* generous ;)

Hmmm... I could swear when I ordered GSII and then the X-pack shipping was free on both orders. Maybe I'm just getting old. :NOTSURE:

Game soundtracks seem to be going through something of a boom at the moment, that is terrific news, the Sins theme tune has been stuck in my head all week, the sign of great music...

Ssshhh!! Put some spin on it...

Say something like "It was a special show of love to our loyal customers to give them a little something back for their patronage".

Question: Aren't the music files accessible in the game's directory anyway (albeit in Ogg format, though a determined soundtrack obsessed nerd [with questionable personal hygiene] could find a way around that), so what's the point of the soundtrack? (Or are the music files now no longer accessible?)

It costs money to get software to convert them, or lots of free trials ;)

I have a free version of Audacity and the ogg codec but keep it under your hat.

Winamp plays oggs by default, along with some other players.

i gotta say i dig the music in this game but i am one of those people who rather listen to their own music while playing games. i prefer nirvana, killswitch engage, and interpol but personally the only in game music that is good is for ingame vids and vid sequences

Winamp plays them

and even converst them!!!

I got mad at my H.I.C. music converter (Hint: uses speakers, can anyone gues what it is?)

and I found instructions online to make Winamp convert files. Too bad I forgot them already....
