Stacks or Grid Stacks on ObjectDock

Stacks or Grid Stacks on ObjectDock

Man, this is sweet feature on Leapard. I know there are flyout menues, but any plans for stacks grid menu. This would make my productivity level jump!

Yeah, got it worked out and I love it. Does anyone know if it's possible to set the "MyComputer" to a stack? It makes me pick a designated folder or drive but, I want it to just give me the default action like it does already (list the drives).

I love the stacks docklet, here is a screenie I did a few weeks ago using it,

https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=21836&libid=13

https://www.wincustomize.com/zoom.aspx?skinid=21836&libid=13

As far as extracting the zip, it really does not matter where you extract it to, so long as you place the extracted file in the path(folder) that Mikewell said above. C:\ProgramFiles\Stardock\ObjectDock\Docklets

I have ODP, and I also have to manually change the dock from bottom to top each time, in order to get the fly out fan or grid to work, when the dock is on top of the screen, as Mirsguy stated above.

@mikewill

Just create a folder somewhere on your computer called "My Computer" and make shortcuts to your drives in it. This means removable drives won't appear here unless you specifically make a shortcut to them though. You can also put the icons in the order you want by creating the shortcuts in reverse order (ie most recent is listed first) the sorting by creation date.

Check to make sure your dock is set to Top and not Bottom...you may think it's top but check anyway (ObjectDock Properties\Positioning)

yep you were right, it was set on top, i changed for bottom , and move it to the top but no the flyout still trough the top :(

thanks anyway, i will try to create a new tabbled dock to see if it works

No, if your dock is at the top, it should say top. Set it back up and then close objectdock and reopen, see if that works.

i must be stupid...

if i set the position on top, the result is the same as if it's on bottom: it doesn't work !

and if i move the dock with my mouse from bottom to top, same result too

and this no matter if i unload and reload objectdock...

Does it works by default ?

No, you aren't stupid...read from the beginning of this thread, others have had the same problem you are...you may find your answer. The one I gave you was the easiest problem solver some had found.

ok, sorry you couldn't get it to work. Works great here. I love it.

Have had this installed for awhile. Works great. Figure the post is worth a bump so maybe some new users will see it. ;)

Just in case I didn't already say this in the thread I did post this along with several other user requests for the 2.0 update. That isn't a promise of course just saying that the info has been passed along and figuring out what is possible and isn't is up to them. We are always looking for more ideas so keep them rolling!

I figured I'd quicken this post a bit since I frequently receive questions about this docklet.

If you would like to begin using the awesomest docklet available, then go here. http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread.php?t=46859

Using OD+

Is anyone successfully using the stacks docklet in a tabbed dock located at the top of the screen? I've tried, but the stack opens up off the top of the screen on activation. The dock is positioned via ObjectDock Postioning at the top of the screen, so doesn't seem to fit up-thread issues. To put a spin on things, it works appropriately on single docks at the top of the screen...

Any ideas?

It won't work with the either setting when on a regular tabbed dock at the top of the screen. I've tried and tried. The reason it works on a single tabbed dock is because the single tabbed dock slides down far enough for you to see it. (techinically, it works on the other dock, you just can't see it because it's off screen). My suggestion is use it on the single tabbed or use it on a zoomer or tile at the top.

Check the link in reply #2, then follow the instructions. You have to have ObjectDock also...

Yes. See Reply #17.

You need to right-click on your top-tabbed dock. Choose "This Dock", then "Position on screen", then "Top". I use stacks on my top-of-screen tabbed dock (5 tabs) and it works beautifully...as long as I follow the procedure I just outlined. Don't ask me why.
