Are there any online Role playing communities out there?

A few years ago while awaiting the release of EQ2 I joined a roleplaying guild. for months before the game came out we all happily rolplayed along on our guild's forums. It was the most fun I've had in a long time, however a few months after release the the responsibilities of life caught up with me and I was forced to stop playing. Unfortunately I've lost contact with that great group of people through 4 moves, a career change and a young daughter. well the writing bug has bitten me again and I don't think I have anywhere near the time or ability to write a book (though I do have some ideas percolating).

If anyone knows of any kind of roleplaying community (preferably fantasy although I'm not too picky) that I could join I wolud love to hear about it.

Last I played was World of Warcraft. It was a lot of fun but for some reason I just could't stay hooked. I also tried Ryzom which wasn't too bad.

Maybe you should get into EQ again.  :)

I don't really have the time unfortunately. To be honest I enjoyed the writing and the storytelling with others more than the game.
