Last Exile!

How many of you guys have seen Last Exile?

I think that it could be a good mod for sins. So before I really start any work i wanted to know if it would be a good idea according to the community.

Point one: Most combat is frigate size vs frigate size or higher, few countries use fighters.

Point two: phase space and the grand stream almost perfectly compatible.

Point three: The abilities system would allow a lot of diversity in tactics and appearance IMO. (appearance because of attack graphics).

How would you convert solar systems to "normal" land as in last exile?

Well, the whole game would play above the coulds, so the skybox would be changed to ground below and sky above.
Planets would be refueling bases or whatever is there of strategic importance.


I would defenitly help with this mod once i am done with my own things, as it definitly something different :)

code ships arent seen when they are in phase space right? thats the grand stream. I figure if we can change the texture like pithlit said it would work. Im still thinking of a way to get free travel in rather then following the phase lanes.

At a guess make all the systems linked to each other and then modify the phase lane graphic to something invisible. Not too sure it would be such a hot idea for gameplay tho.

well would it be relevant, I mean would it be a real big difference to the players? Cus in last exile you could go anywhere.

last exile was awesome, not certain about how to make a mod though, i dont think phase lanes being in will detract from it. Call them 'Currents'
