Far-away Icons dissapearing!

I notice whenever I play on a random huge map the fleet icons will dissapear makeing it almost impossible to play zoomed out. Only the planets icon is visable.. if I could find the screenshot folder I could post so someone could understand.

Just a bug that I havent seen anyone in the forums find yet.

Yes, it's a bug. And it's been HUGELY reported.

Its a known bug involving random multi-star maps. Fixed internally, still waiting on the released patch.

I haven't played many large maps yet, but I did get around to it yesterday. What I saw seems to fit with your descriptions...
