Pursuit

Ever have those moments when you just feel…right?  One of those times when just for a few moments everything’s okay and you’re on top of it all?  I like those, fleeting though they may be.  I feel that life is all about struggle and pain, but it’s those little moments of happiness that really stick to you.  For all intents and purposes, it’s a high and you get addicted real fast.  It’s not one of those “destroy your life” kind of highs, no.  It’s a “great to be alive” high.  No ill effects, but you’re feeling real nice.

I guess that’s what they meant when those guys with their powdered wigs were jotting down stuff on how to govern this here country.  “Pursuit of happiness” Yeah, it’s always a pursuit.  Then again, nothing worth having in life ever comes easy.  You have to work for it, go out grab it and wrestle it back.  Something like that, anyway.  If you’re given everything you lose the meaning.  The meaning in what it is to earn something yourself.  That’s probably the most important thing you can do.

I’m in college, pursuing some of my ambitions.  Always with the pursuit.  When I get out of here and into a good job, of which I’ll have to pursue.  I’ll have to find me one of them lady friends…and as always, a pursuit is in order.  Then again, maybe I’ll be the one being pursued.  I don’t mind.  A strong woman is often a good woman.  Then comes that whole family business with its ups and downs.  In the end, it’s probably worth it…I like to think so.

Yeah, life is about pursuit.  Finding those things that make you think the world is alright, that everything really is worth all this trouble.  Reaching out and grabbing what you want, and hanging on.  Effort will pay off if you’re persistent enough.

At least, that’s how I see it.

Another interesting read, mate.

I guess, if you think about it, we never stop pursuing, right throughout our life. Even as a adult in a stable, happy relationship with a good job etc., I still have pursuits. It is when we stop having these I think we start to die.

Heh, I try.

It is when we stop having these I think we start to die.

Also, a very valid point.  When you run out of things to go after...why bother sticking around?

I really liked this one!  I had one of those V8 Moments reading it.  And yes, it is a narcotic that is irresistible!  Yet I then realized that is what sets up the downer, when something goes wrong and you cant fix it then.  And you realize that not everything is right.  Those pass too, but I think those seem more acute when they follow one of the heady periods.

I had never looked at it that way, until I read your article.  But the simple truth of it was what struck me and made me realize that for most people, life is a bumpy road - and no drugs are needed.

This gets an insightful.

Yeah Zoo, to quote Deep Purple its not the kill but the thrill of the chase -a man's happiness should just exceed his grasp and all that.

Well done! Like Maso said another interesting read.
