they have alot of cap ships to chose from...yes....but the bulk of the fleet depending on just 1 type of ship.....cobolt frigat....this will make the game very boaring and decrese the replay value....the graphics cover this up for only a limited amount of time.... i recommend more ships to vary the bulk of your fleet...plz....i really want this to happen so i can buy it for $50.00 without regret...plz

Might as well jump straight to the point: You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. You really shouldn't even be *trying* to post any suggestions if you're not even able to play the beta.

I don't know who's fleet you are seeing but going all Cobalts is a bad idea. I would just build a fleet of Javelis LRM's for much less the cost and annihilate them.

anyways, in the VEWY beginning, your fleet is mainly cobalts, but if you have mass cobalts towards the end, your bum hole will be bigger than Britney Spears'

If you are referring to the pre-beta 1 walkthru in February...it's been 9 months since then and a lot has changed. I don't even think Cobalts were in the game back then - all you had were Scouts and Caps.

Hmmm, I find myself picking light carriers and missile frigates over cobalts by the time the mid game phase roles around (possibly throw in a mix of flak and siege, as well). I've yet to use the Robotics Cruiser, but I can see its purpose.

I would use Kodiaks, but I've yet to see a multiplayer game where I am able to research them.

As for the Command Cruiser, it blows too much for me to ever even consider using it.

blair, I've never seen LRM's worth anything, maybe people dont micro them correctly... but seriously

you need some damn nice armor upgrades for them to be worth jack.

they can easily be plowed through, especially with cobalts.

No need to micro them or supe them up. 1 vs 1 a Cobalt will beat a Javelis but economically Javelis's will destroy Cobalts. They are easily the best counter to mass Cobalts, atleast early in the game.

A few more ships, sure. But the real problem is most people don't know how to use what ships are available, and don't bother. (Oh, and on smaller maps you don't get them out much, if at all..)

only if someone cannot afford to max themselves out on cobalts. which I rarely have a problem doing...

although granted I see your point, its a padding unit if you cannot afford the better alternative.

Yes: There will be more units in the final version (at least two races worth, plus a few TEC ones that are already in the pipeline)

No: There will be no new units added at this time -- its too late in the development cycle.

Umm... So whats the beta 4 got in store?
I'm guessing the Vasari will be the race thats added, but besides that what will be added? Any more TEC ships? If so just one or two or upwards of five? Anything else? And what week, if not day, in november will it be released?

We're supposed to get a new race, gameplay features that were taken out of beta 3 (that were in beta 2, like random galaxy creation or whatnot) and a bunch of new features that they've been working on. The TEC is going to get some new toys (we don't really know if it's ships or not, the devs just said it will be more complete), although they've also said that we probably won't get to see the final 100% complete version of the TEC until release.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
