We Own the Night reminds me of....

I keep seeing the ads and trailers for the new movie We Own the Night and all I can think of is haven't I seen that movie before?

Though it doesn't seem to credit back to it, I swear the story is just a dramatic update of a bad 80's Comedy: Johnny Dangerously.  (Michael Keaton, Joe Piscopo before he seemed to have roided out, Marilu Henner, etc.)

Hmm, lets see, two brothers, one criminal, the other cop.  Yeah, eerily similar.

Bleh.  I really wish Hollywood wasn't so morally corrupt that they can't help stealing from themselves.

It sure seems to me that most people in Hollywood would fail creative writing classes for failing to have original ideas.

What I hate is when Hollywood tries to remake a good movie. Sure there are times when it turns out the remake is as good or better than the original, but how often does it happen? If anything they should find bad movies with good stories and remake those.

We own the night was a pretty bad movie...a good scene in it though is when Mark Walburg and Robert Duvall are having that car chase in the rain and you can hear the dad gun fighting on the radio...that was cool.

Isn't that the one where Eva Mendez has a nude scene?

Um I think she had a body double iirc...I think you're thinking about Training Day with Denzel Washington. She was in that one:P
