I don't know how many of you are familiar with the greatest of MMORPGs, Kingdom of Loathing. It's been a while since I'd played, and I'd lost all my old accounts because it had been sixty days since I'd signed in.

So I created a new account, sad to have lost all my efforts on my old ones, but glad to play the game again. Because it's a new character with almost no stuff still, my meat (the money of the KoL universe) is pretty low. But as I was adventuring in the Sleazy Back Alley, some doctor took 500 of my meat and changed my male Disco Bandit, Fatty Muffins, into a FEMALE!

Yeah, I'm a girl now.

And, after kvetching in the chat feature of the game, someone sent me 550 meat, so I could be a guy again!

Now, the great dilemma: waste adventures in the Sleazy Back Alley until I can undo my castration, or pocket the meat, stay a chick, and continue on my quests?

Such difficult decisions.

Why is being a guy worth more than being a girl?  It sounds like a sexist game to me.  Can you take away a girl's girlhood and she has to buy it back?  The feminist in me is wondering.  Not that the video game world with all woman in double D's isn't already sexist enough.

It's not; the operation is performed on both sexes (and costs the same). That's why I may try to get that adventure again and be a guy again, but who knows? I'm probably far too lazy.

Besides, it was my own fault, I clicked the button to change my sex, mostly just for fun. It was entirely optional.

And worth it.

I think the docters might have mistaken you for a paitent that was soposed to have a gender change or somthing.
