Question re Java SE Runtime Enviroment 6

Guys, this might seem a dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyway. I have Java installed on my PC and there was an update released today to take it up to version 3. I just looked in the list of my installed progs and I noticed that there are three versions siting there and each one is occupying over 100 megs of space. Question - Do I need all three or can I get rid of the two older verions and just keep version three?

The only 'dumb' question is the one you don't ask.

Un-install all of them and then install update.

Not a "dumb" question at all - I've been wondering about that myself as my HD is starting to get a bit cramped on one of my rigs.

Here's my dumb question: If you've already installed the latest update, do you know if it screws anything up to just uninstall the old ones still listed in Add/Remove Programs? I could free up ~225MB.

Thanks.
