Defending President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran

This is rich!

I am sure most of us remember the President of Iran declaring that Israel must be wiped off the map,{this was a translation from his native language to English} Now I have heard several lefties declaring that Ahmadinejad did not mean that all the Jews of Israel should be killed, that we have misunderstood him, that the translation was wrong, what Ahmadinejad said was Israel as a country should be deleted from world maps that the country has no right to the name and it should be called Palestine, not Israel. Poor Ahmadinejad  we have him all wrong, he just wants to correct the maps of the world not kills Jews, how could we all be so wrong?

I am so glad we have the far left around to correct us when we are so off base in our thinking aren't you?

don't the lefties understand that he would kill them faster than he would kill any other section of America? the left love homosexuals, there are none in Iran. The left love womens rights, Abortion and such, none of this is allowed in Iran. They would be the first to run their mouths about such things and killed for their efforts. But then again with their own life on the line they just might learn keeping their mouth shut ain't such a bad thing after all.

They don't care... all they know is "hate Bush". He can oversee the rape of women and the torture of gays all he wants as long as he speaks out against Bush.

The man lives in another century. He should be ignored. He is just another Ayatollah in disguise.

I am still trying to figure out how the party of compassion would embrace a man that has genocide and the death of all non-heterosexuals as his main agenda.  I guess I missed that class in compassion 101.

Two things:

The hall in which he spoke at the Columbia University was donated by, A Jew. I wonder how he feels about this?

Although he himself has not called the Jewish state a "one-bomb state" his support of Islamic radicalisms are the one's who DO say it. Do you know a person by the friends they keep?

FYI: The Hall is named Alfred Lerner hall.

Alfred Lerner was a Russian Jew. Russian Jews make up a large percentage of Israel today.

because Ahmadinejad follows the Democratic mantra, Bush bad Iraq failure, why I would not be suprised if they nominated him for President if they could just figure a way around that pesky constitutional thing saying you mush be an American born citizen to be President.

what Ahmadinejad said was Israel as a country should be deleted from world maps that the country has no right to the name and it should be called Palestine, not Israel.

The Quran speaks of the children of Israel and that G-d told them to settle in the holy land. The Quran does not mention "Palestine" or "Palestinians".

The Quran might not be good enough for the pagan president of Iran, but it is for me.

"Palestine" was the name the pagan Roman empire gave to the region to erase its connection to G-d. Why "Muslims" insist on using the pagan rather than the Quranic name for the region is beyond me.

From what I understand you are correct but further still Palestine was the Roman word for Philistine. The people Israel was to wipe out.

Just a thought.

Understand my friend, I was just adding scope. This was the name of the tribe that Israel was to wipe out when they entered into the 'Promised Land.' From the biblical account they did wipe them out and the name was used to shame the Jews as they were now living under the name of the people they wiped out.

That's all

The people Israel was to wipe out.

Some allege that they are still there and are the "original inhabitants" of the land.

Can't have it both ways. The Jews either wiped them out XOR they are still there.

Choose.

why? The Jews of Spain went underground posing as Catholic to escape the inquisition, but secretly worshipped as JEWS.
