One of the cats died

My mum just called me - she didn't know whether to tell me last night when she called me or wait until tomorrow when it wasn't my birthday - but she didn't she called me today.
My dad's cat Kiki Adele (it came to us 3rd hand with that name!) got hit by a car last night - apparently it was a hit and run. My dad's pretty upset.
I'm not sure how the rest of the family or even I feel about this. (the cat dying not my dad being upset)
Because none of actually liked kiki much - she used to fight with our other cat Richard (mums cat) everytime he came near she'd his and spit and so he kinda became a runaway - hardly ever came home only to eat when kiki wasn't around. so we never saw him. Plus kiki was too darn affectionate - she was a russian blue with the most evil eyes
but she was such a sweet natured cat but she'd always try to cuddle up to the people who didn't want cuddles. I'm not really an animal lover as such - I like to pat cats/dogs and then leave when i've had enough - which is why now i'm married and living away from home we don't have any pets.
And my sister has a cat too - tulip (but its a boy) -- but it's a CAT now as opposed to a kitten - and so dad is the primary cat feeder talk toer etc. He always feeds the 3 (now 2) cats and our (i keep saying our but i dont live the anymore) THEIR dog Sultan, before her goes to work.
So yeah - its weird. I'm sad because you know it's a life and I knew that cat and it died in such an inhumane way and my dad's really sad but I'm just I dunno weird. *update* Dad just told me he's leaving work early today to buy an orange tree to plant over the place where he buried her body. In between the macadamia nut and the lemonade trees.
